About Unusual Connections
Unusual Connections founder, Pilar Orti combines scientific, business and theatrical expertise to provide her uniquely compelling and creative form of training – unusual connections.
It is her belief that all employees will perform better within an organisation if they are happy at work by being an integral part of a collaborative, functioning team where each individual is inspired to achieve in their own way. The “unusual connections way” combines physical self-awareness with emotional and intellectual reasoning to develop leaders and nurture collaboration in teams.
Pilar has personal experience of working in large organisations and building teams having worked for Turner Classic Movies and latterly running her own small theatre compani, where she provided support and training for over 50 employees and freelancers in a notoriously underfunded sector. Her freelance work as an established and respected voiceover artist has also made her an integral part of brands such as Nintendo WiiFit, Nickelodeon and Sony.
A trained biologist with a BSc from Imperial College, London, Pilar has a special interest in human biology and uses her training role to encourage and promote wellbeing at work.
Her commitment to understanding organisational behaviour at work and the principles of learning has also seen her study at LSE, achieved her PTTLS certificate and become a fellow of the RSA.
With her unusual skill-set spanning scientific, business and theatrical expertise, Pilar is a unique and versatile trainer who makes an instant impact but is dedicated to delivering ongoing results that deliver both individual and organisational change.
